When Sophie entered a teething stage, I started browsing internet for natural, safe and well-crafted wooden toys that could substitute plastic toys. Plastic often contains harmful chemicals, such as lead, Phthalates, or Bisphenol A (BPA). The toys made of plastic brake easily and many times have sharp edges or batteries inside (that baby can chew on). As a parent, my first priority was safety for my child and I decided to try wooden toys. I found a wonderful shop on Esty KeepsakeToys, which sells beautiful handmade wooden toys and teethers. All toys are made out of non-splintering solid maple wood and sanded smooth. The teethers are very comfortable for children to hold in their little hands and safe to put in their mouth. The shop offers customization: you can engrave a name of your child, which will give a toy a special meaningful value. The toys have loopholes and you can attach them to your child's favorite lovie. Another great shop on Etsy Strollababy sells beautifully made lovies with detachable beeswax maple teething rings. This is a creative and safe way to keep your child busy for some time. The lovies are perfect size and became our favorite travel companion.
