A bed your tot always dreamed about!

This is a fantastic find and it is definitely coming to our home with the birth of our second baby. I wish I found this bed when Sophie was younger, as she never liked her crib. I guess she never felt secure behind those crib bars and she was always frightened of the "sleep" time.

It was until the day we bought a low frame queen size bed for our fourth bedroom and Sophie took possession of it the very same day. She climbed into the bed and covered herself with a blanket. It was the moment when me and my husband decided our daughter was ready for her "big girl" bed. We were all beyond happy! Sophie was 15 months old.

Today, Sophie is 21 months old and she loves going to sleep! She brings her teddy bear and books to bed, and she enjoys climbing on it by herself. The frame of the bed is low and we were never afraid she might fall down.

Parents often ask when is a good time to make a transition from crib to bed. Many parents are afraid to remove those crib bars as they think it will remove the bedtime boundaries. However, it was never a case for us. Sophie goes to bed according to her set schedule and she enjoys falling asleep knowing she is not trapped behind the bars.

I personally think that kids have to feel comfortable when they go to sleep and when they wake up. And, as long as it is safe for your child, "freedom" may actually be a beneficial thing for you and your toddler.

HighlandWood is now a favorite shop on my list. Make sure to check them out for other great things such as Natural Wood Baby Gym
